Water Safety ProgramsFLOAT’s water safety programs are designed to prevent drowning and aquatic injuries by fostering knowledge, skills and awareness – ensuring individuals can safely enjoy water environments. Each program is customized to the specific needs of the aquatic facility, including:
• Teaching swimming and training lifeguards
• Understanding and mitigating risks
• Ensuring safety standards and operational compliance
• Implementing emergency responses to reduce fatal and non-fatal water-related accidents -
Swim InstructionVolunteer certified Jeff Ellis swim instructors provide skill-based lessons for students aged three and up in a fun, supportive environment, focusing on helping new swimmers:
• Build confidence and competence
• Develop safe habits around water
• Improve technique
• Acquire water survival skills
• Become stronger, safer swimmers
• Develop a lifelong love and appreciation for the water -
Lifeguard TrainingTo help aquatic facilities and nonprofit organizations in underserved communities ensure water safety for their respective audiences, FLOAT volunteer instructors certified by Ellis & Associates industry leading International Lifeguard Training Program provide cost-free lifeguard training. The program includes rigorous training in water rescue, CPR and first-aid.
